The white wolf waits in her cold winter cave
\n protecting her hoard of wet paints and pens,
\nknowing the stench of her insipid prey,
\nbiting the vein of what they believe in.
\nBack in the woods where pollution can not
\n blacken and spoil the crystal-white snow,
\nshe smiles at the stars children have sought,
\nlitters the ground with perfect pinecone prose.
\nOther creatures scurry close just to hear
\n phantoms and fantasies worth embracing.
\nThe delicious tone of her call so clear
\n giving voice to the continued beating,
